With the arrival of summer and warmer weather, backyard grilling is a must. Did you know that 3 out of every 5 homes has an outdoor grill, and while that makes for quite a few tasty meals, it also increases the risk for fire. Each year, approximately 8,900 home fires are attributed to grilling.

Half of us grill outdoors year-round but the peak month for grilling is July, and with the 4th of July holiday weekend upon us, here are some tips from the NFPA on basic grill safety.
